I wanted to drop a line to you to say thanks so much for my beautiful home! I am in Chipshot Heights on Lot 6. I moved in on November 20th and have been very pleased with the house. Let me back up. In July, I started to make an offer on an [Eagle Model] Madrona. In the end, it sold to someone else. I had toured the model home and really loved it. We’ve been in our beautiful house just about 3 months… and we love it. As you know, we have built and designed a few homes over the last 40-50 years. But we really love this one, and we want to congratulate both of you on a job well done. We were so impressed with the quality of the work and the efficiency of your crew. You have assembled a great group of guys who are both fast and good! We enjoyed watching our house go up and were always amazed at their progress from week to week. Today we had our final warranty walkthrough for the home that Eagle Building Company built for us over a year ago. After a year of living in this beautiful home, there were only a few minor things that needed to be fixed. Eagle Building Company is, in my view, the finest builder on Whidbey Island. Why?

2. They use quality building materials - nothing cheap about this home. The flooring, cabinets, windows, showers, sinks and countertops, fireplace, roofing, etc. are the finest quality and installed with great care.

3. They build a quality home in less than half the time of what other builders would take. We moved into our home in 5 months! Other builders on the island take a year or so. And, if you are borrowing to build your home, time equals money. When you save time, you save your hard-earned cash.

4. When we built our home, we had a few issues, none major, that were ironed out by peaceful discourse. Eagle Building Company’s ethics and values come from their deep Christian roots - not just an outward profession but an inward commitment to live out their values in the way they build homes and handle any issues that may come up. This was refreshing!

We became acquainted with Eagle Builders after spotting one of their new homes in the Evenstar Glenn community on the REDFIN real estate website. From this site, we accessed the Eagle Building website and found more detailed information about the design of their homes at Evenstar Glenn Community, as well as the testimonials of other renovation projects done by their company.

Regarding our new home – we just love the floor plan and openness of the Hawk design. Our house was built over the summer (the dry season) in record time. The options: carpet, hardwood flooring, appliances, paint colors, tiles, and light fixtures are ample and their design experts were helpful in assisting us in selecting the features that really customized our home. There was very little follow-up work to do after we took possession of our property, and we know we can go back to Eagle at any time on warranty work.

It is my sincere pleasure to provide a written recommendation on behalf of Eagle Building Company. Mr. Criswell was the general contractor for our residential repair project on Whidbey Island. The project scope involved repair to our main residence, two accessory buildings, and site fencing on the property, all damaged during a storm in the winter of 2015. We couldn't be happier with the dream home that Ben and Bill built for us on Whidbey Island. This was our first new construction experience, and Eagle made the process one where we were full participants in the design and decisions. Eagle Building Company is the finest homebuilder ever. This isn’t even a slight exaggeration. We recently completed a six-month renovation with them and recommend Eagle at the highest level. My partner and I have experienced at least a dozen construction and renovation projects in our lives. Some were positive, and others, well, not so much. Eagle is in a class by itself. They don’t just write slogans, they live out of their stated mission and vision: Relational Integrity, Value Engineering, Building Dreams, delivering completed projects of the utmost quality, holding themselves to the highest levels of quality and performance in every phase of construction.  

When we found our dream home in Coupeville, the location exceeded our expectations. Private, surrounded by trees, beautiful water and mountain views, with more eagles and cows as neighbors than people. We wanted proximity to all that Seattle offers but a serene, spiritually uplifting place to call home.

The original house was more of a bad dream than a dream home, having not been maintained in many years and having been vacant for several. We joke that the Brady Bunch reunion could have been filmed in the existing home… but they would have had to walk gingerly upstairs due to the rotted support beam! Our project lead Scott Justus was on site every day for over six months, conducting a team of exemplary trade professionals like the maestro of a great symphony: plumbers, electricians, roofers, window installers, siding installers, painters, floor installers and finishers, sheet rockers, tile masons, cabinet fabricators, granite installers, and others too numerous to mention, all professionals at the top of their game.  

Attention to every small detail is everywhere in our completely remodeled home. Within the Eagle website, you will see before and after photos, and if they weren’t paired, you wouldn’t recognize the transformation of our ugly duckling into a sophisticated, open, light-filled Pacific Northwest Swan. The new dormer in the sun-filled upstairs great room, the many added windows, re-engineered interior spaces, beautifully crafted trim and soffits, custom bookcases,  wrapped beams, gorgeous closet and interior doors, spacious bathrooms with heated floors, glassed walk-in showers and soaking tubs, handsome granite and custom designed chef's kitchen, gleaming wood floors, dramatic entry doors and signature foyer lighting, glass-paneled balcony and hand-crafted deck invite all the beautiful mountain and water views in throughout our home.

Working with Ben, Scott, and Ben’s very creative and talented dad Bill, we collaboratively discussed every aspect of the project, which resulted in an incredible synergy. All of this took place with us living over 3,000 miles away and having only a handful of face-to-face meetings. Scott communicated with us daily including texts and pictures, often coming up with ideas on the fly to make the space more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. Accent lights added to the lighting plan, a larger upstairs master bath, a linen closet replaced by a bonus study with a window to the mountains and a vaulted ceiling all resulted from the dynamic communication among all of us. Ben supervised the project with a detailed eye toward timing, cost-containment (we made it hard on him at many points and he pushed back hard to save us money!), and kept us updated with weekly status calls throughout the project. We all felt like a team and together we celebrated the beautiful results. We can’t say enough about how much Scott’s commitment to our dream home becoming a reality meant to us. He treated our home as if it was his own every step of the way. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the investment of heart, soul, and incredible talent Scott brought to our project, and that he and the Eagle team would bring to yours.

We hired Eagle Building Company at the recommendation of Rich's Spa after seeing a sample of their work in their showroom. Ben Criswell, owner, was courteous and professional from my first phone call. Ben came to our home and listened to what we wanted in a deck. He listened before making any suggestions. After hearing our concept, he offered some minor suggestions that improved the quality of the deck to better meet our needs.

We had a specific deadline for our deck to be completed because of a graduation party. Ben was very sensitive to our timeline and considerate of our need. We contracted for a complete deck rebuild, and Ben Criswell and his dad have been great to work with. They listened to our needs; made relevant suggestions before, during, and after construction; and treated us as if we were their only customers.

The level of detail and craftsmanship was far above my expectations. The deck turned out beautifully!!! For example, all cuts were arrow straight, joints and spacing were even and consistent from one end of the deck to the other, all screws were countersunk to the same depth, all horizontal surfaces are completely level, and vertical members are plumbed true.

In short, our new deck is once again functional, rock-solid, and a true work of art!

In the middle of December 2007, Ben Criswell of Eagle Building Company called me to let me know that Trex had agreed to replace our deck, which was under a 25-year warranty. One of Ben's employees was on site the same day, and started to remove the original Trex deck, which was initially laid in 2004, when our house was built.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Trex for designating Eagle Building Company to be the contractor for my project, and many more. The quality of workmanship was some of the best that I have encountered. Ben's employee, Rick, was first quality, and displayed an experienced knowledge, that I have not often seen, of dismantling the old deck and installing the new Trex deck. Rick's comment to me was, 'If you are to begin and finish a project, complete that project as if you were completing it for yourself.'

Our old deck was built by a very talented contractor, but the finished product installed by Eagle Building Company was on a level that I seldom see.
